inteRAD's Web Publishing Platform was designed to guarantee zero environment configuration. Zero environment configuration means that in deploying any new web application, the only parameter settings required are those specifically related to the application. You need never change the configuration of your web hosting platform, application platform, or publishing platform. Competitor offerings typically require a programmer to write a bridging application to the platform supplier's API in order to adapt the application to be deployed to the platform. The inteRAD system permits automated deployment of any standard J2EE application. No proprietary APIs are needed. This means that any application developed to industry standards by any third party is immediately usable without adaptation.
To deploy, you simply drag and drop the application onto the platform. Your application server descriptors are configured once only on platform installation. From that point forward, all new J2EE applications can be configured in real time via database settings.
Once dropped onto the platform, the new application will display on the Control Panel. Users with appropriate permissions can then make point and click selections to add it to their web sites and configure it to their particular needs.

Successfully hacking the web server provides access only to read files and symbolic links. No write permission is achieved. More importantly, however, the moment an intruder achieves entry to the web hosting platform, the system automatically breaks connecting bridges, ensuring that further penetration of the system is impossible. The frustrated hacker may read files on the web server, but can progress no further and is completely prevented from damaging either the system or user site data.
Avoiding Security Risks from Coding Errors Potentially the most significant risk to hosts is the one least often recognized the risk imposed by simple errors in the code for host management platforms and web site creation tools. Applications developed in scripting languages carry very high risk, as scripting languages impose a requirement for the application code to be inextricably linked to the web server. A bug anywhere in the code opens the web server to attack. Applications developed in the .NET environment impose similar risks. The .NET engine is a native component of the IIS server.
